A bit more than 25 kilometres away from Toledo city, lays the Natural Monument of Las Barrancas de Castrejón y Calaña. The group formed between Las Barrancas and water reservoir of Castrejón shows one of the most splendid landscapes within the whole Toledo province. Orange coloured cliffs, more than 100 metres high, enormous biodiversity and wide views of Montes de Toledo and Tajos´s valley. No doubt our customers will remain impressive about the most spectacular clay cliffs of the Tajo.
Through the Ecologic Route of Natural Monument of Las Barrancas, in the village of Burujon shire, its easy to access this protected natural area to accomplish a 4,5 kilometres of pleasant walking.
During the visit, you will learn about the natural values of this singular environment, considered Natural Monument since 2010 and included in Red Natura 2000 European Union Programme. For you it will be possible to make an approach to the most characteristic ecosystems of our shire and the internationally known wet zone of breeding and over-wintering for migratory waterbirds.
